Pre-purchase examinations are undertaken on horses for sale to assess the suitability of the individual horse for the specific purpose of which the buyer intends to use it. It is intended to highlight any issues that may limit the horse from performing at it’s intended level.
The buyer can then make an educated decision based on what level of risk they are prepared to take.

As well as a thorough clinical exam we are often asked to perform radiographs, ultrasounds or a scope during the examination. We may also recommend these further diagnostics after we have examined the horse.

The examination can be stressful for both the seller and purchaser. However we find that good communication between all parties involved helps to make it a smooth process.

So if you are thinking of purchasing a new horse and want that extra piece of mind, please don’t hesitate to call the clinic on 03 5292 2151 to arrange it.
